Through funding provided by the Illinois Science & Energy Innovation Foundation (ISEIF), Delta Institute has collaborated with design firm IDEO to use human-centered design to develop a product that empowers consumers with useful information from their smart meters. That product is DeltaLumin.

DeltaLumin helps people make better decisions about their energy use. DeltaLumin is a software-driven product focused on low to moderate income utility customers. It utilizes data made available by advances in smart grid technology to deliver personal information about current and past spending habits. It is designed to change customer behavior by considering what motivates them to keep up to date with their bills, use energy more wisely, make energy-smart purchasing decisions, and to reward them for action.

In 2015 Delta Institute and Faith in Place coordinated a small-scale DeltaLumin Pilot. Find out what we learned in our year one report.
